Micro Training - Your Introduction
Dear Friend,
You should have a pre written introduction that is concise yet shares a few highlights without going on to long. you want to make sure you provided this to your client prior to the event. However make sure you bring a couple of copies of your intro with you to the event. Things get lost and it's nice to have a spare.
PRO TIP- The best person to introduce you is the person leading the group. This might be the head of the organization etc. Their credibility is passed on to you and helps for a smooth presentation.
Do your best to know in advance who will introduce you and walk them through your intro / give them time to study it this way they know the cadence and pace. Many times the person introducing you may be a bit nervous so make sure it's easy and clear to read.
Quick story - While at an event the host is introducing the next presenter and as he is introducing this person the host stumbles over a word in the speakers intro. The speaker says from the side of the stage loud enough the entire audience can hear him say... that is pronounced this way and then says the word.
The host says next time write some sh*t we can all pronounce! I was interested in seeing how the rest of his talk would go after that and as I expected it did not go well.
The lesson for the day is easy to read.
Sincerely,

P.S. There are others ways to be introduced such as video or an audio intro embedded into a PowerPoint presentation. This can be VERY EFFECTIVE when done properly and it has the benefit of being the same every time. I look forward to meeting you at the event. Get Ready!
