I'm going to share a little of my entrepreneurial journey because it's very instructive.
After experiencing a failed Adoption I was placed in California's Child Welfare System and I lived in numerous foster homes and group homes until I aged out of the system at eighteen.
During this time in my life I was going through some serious personal challenges, however I was able to focus on a special gift given to me when I was a little boy.
When I was five years someone taught me a simple magic trick. Shortly after that when I was placed in foster care, the art of magic gave me something positive to focus on while I was being moved from home to home. Magic SAVED my life!
Because of this experience it forced me to see the world through a different lens, therefore, I followed a non-traditional path.
For example when most kids my age wanted to be professional athletes, I wanted to be a professional magician.

When most soon to be entrepreneurs were trying to get bank loans to fund their dreams, I took it to the street.
My first experience selling myself with a LIVE presentation was at the age 13 as a street magician. At the time I did not realize I was selling myself but that's exactly what was happening.
Street performing is one of the most challenging selling environments in the world, even still I turned this “side gig” into a nearly a six-figure income stream working mainly on weekends. Not a bad way to fund your dream!
When it comes to connecting with an audience in this environment you learn real fast what works and what does not work. It’s the best focus group in the world.
Anyway one day a lady calls me and says she wanted to hire me to come to an event she was hosting.
That conversation turned into a $15,000 contract for two days of work. This was my first big deal and I said to myself there must be a lot more people like her out there that will do the same thing.
Through trial and error I discovered the secret to connecting with people that would pay me was learning how to properly market and sell my services.
Overtime I finally cracked the code and here is what happened.

I became a brand ambassador and spokesperson helping Fortune 500 Corporations sell over 3 billion dollars of their products and services at sales meeting's, trade shows and product introductions.
After seeing all I was doing a friend said I had even more to share with the world and suggested I share my story about growing up in foster care and how I triumphed over the situation and made my dreams happen following my passion.

After doing what I knew to do I was averaging 186 speaking engagements each year.
I once spoke at three conferences in three States in a twenty-six-hour period. Whew!
Sharing a message with an audience has allowed me to become an author and share the stage with a United States President, Nobel Peace Prize Recipient, Talk Show Hosts, Legendary Athletes and Celebrities.
