She Rocked My World when she said…

I’m securing a hotel meeting room for a live event I’m hosting later this year and the sales manager gives me the quote for the meeting space and instantly says is that in your budget.

I said I was thinking half of that she responds not a problem. 
Here is the problem she was negotiating with herself she should have waited for me to respond before she made her next statement. 
The truth is she responded so quickly I know there is still room in the deal to negotiate further BUT it’s more than fair price right now. 
 
I bring this up because I remember doing the exact same thing when talking with clients about my fees. I would negotiate with myself because I was desperate for the work.  
I assumed the lowest price would guarantee me the work AND THEN I HAD MY WORLD ROCKED.
I had a client turn me down because I was not charging enough - she questioned how good can you be if you are charging so little.  Whoops!
That was a game changer in my mindset.
NEVER assume what someone can or cannot afford you would be surprised what people will invest.  Also NEVER negotiate with yourself.
